We are beginning a new project in September, the interior remodel and design of a very special Mid Century Modern home in the Naples neighborhood of Long Beach, California.  The home is comprised of mostly glass, thus its nickname "Glass House."  We will begin by installing new flooring throughout, lighting, paint and eventually new kitchen cabinets, surfaces, wall tile and Wolf appliances as specified by the client!  Stage one will also include remodeling two bathrooms so stay with us for updates, progress images, and an inside look at the entire process!

5 Interior Design Ideas

Whether your taste in design is traditional, farmhouse, coastal, modern, transitional, mid-century, or more, below we've put together a collection of five interior design ideas to get your wheels spinning as we head into the spring and summer months! 

One of the main reasons we're fans of older homes are the architectural details. Bulls-eye trim, room pillars, arched doorways, and all of those wonderful things that add character to a space that you typically cannot find in homes built today.  One great architectural enhancement would be to add wood beams to a cathedral or vaulted ceiling. These beams add a level of interest, warmth, and charm to your room. 

Neutral tones like gray, beige, ivory, tan, etc. are all beautiful colors and certainly serve their purpose in different spaces, but choosing a color like Blue Note from Benjamin Moore, adds a sophisticated out-of-the-box approach to your interior design. Blue is also a very calming shade so it's nice to incorporate into a room where you come to decompress or even in your workspace to add an overall soothing effect. 

If you're tired of tile, why not try wide-planked natural wood flooring in your bathroom instead? This can provide a bit of a beachy style and help it to feel more like an extension of the design style in the rest of your home. One bit of advice we'll give is to reserve this for adult bathrooms as wooden floors can easily stain.
