Women in Construction

Ladies, stand up, we have a new reason to celebrate! Until recently, the role of a woman in the construction field has been in more of an administrator capacity. As time progresses, this industry is moving right along with it and celebrating what women are doing in building.

The NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) just celebrated, Professional Women in Building (PWB) this past week.  The goal is to highlight the vast contributions women are making to the residential construction industry. Members of this association celebrate in various ways, including fundraisers to create scholarships for women entering the industry and by teaching building skills to local school children.

Women have long been in this field, but it’s their goal to put a spotlight on them. They also want to emphasize to school-aged girls and women that the home building industry can be a great career choice with different options and directions to choose from.
